Team rosters will be made up of 4 players.  Each time slot will include two teams.  HitTrax difficulty will be based on age group to level out the competitive playing field.  Game length will be 9 innings or 30 minutes, whichever comes first.  No new inning will start after 26 minutes.  There will be no run rule applied to any of the games.  They will all be played based off innings and time limit listed above.  Players will receive one AB on each team, the team that does NOT get a hit first will lose.  A number between 1-10 will be picked to determine which team goes first.  The MPH on the pitching machines will differ depending on the age groups of the players competing.  High school players will feed the pitching machines for each other.

The Nebraska Baseball Academy will assign teams of four (4).  You can request friends to play with when you register.  You will be assigned a 60 minute session between the hours of 5pm – 9pm each week.  This time may vary from week to week.

All players must use their own bats and helmets.  Helmets must be worn at all times in the cages!  Turf shoes can be used to hit.  Do NOT wear cleats, sandals or crocs.

The winners of the league will receive a Nebraska Baseball Academy hat.

What is HitTrax?

HitTrax is a sports technology system designed primarily for baseball and softball. It is a data capture and analysis tool that helps players, coaches, and teams track and improve their performance. Here’s how it works:

  1. Hitting Simulation: HitTrax uses a combination of cameras and sensors to track the flight of the ball when it is hit by a batter. This allows it to simulate the trajectory of the ball as if it were being hit in an actual baseball or softball game.
  2. Data Capture: The system provides real-time data on various aspects of a player’s performance, including exit velocity (the speed of the ball coming off the bat), launch angle (the angle at which the ball leaves the bat), distance (how far the ball would have traveled in a real game), and more.
  3. Instant Feedback: One of the key benefits of HitTrax is that it provides instant feedback to players. This feedback can help hitters make adjustments to their swing mechanics and approach to improve their performance.
  4. Competition and Gamification: HitTrax can also be used for fun and competitive purposes. It can turn batting practice into a game by simulating various game situations and providing a scoring system.

HitTrax is widely used in baseball and softball training facilities, colleges, and professional organizations to help players develop their skills and track their progress over time. It has become an essential tool for player development and performance analysis in these sports.
