Camps

The primary goal of the Nebraska Baseball Academy is to help each athlete develop a positive mental attitude about themselves and the game of baseball.  Our focused instruction provides campers with sound fundamentals, disciplined work habits, drill work for personal work, and a passion for the game.  Our personalized approach helps build confidence.  We want our athletes to confidently approach their next challenge and help them contribute to their personal goals and those set by their coaches and team.

It is the policy of the Nebraska Baseball Academy to admit any and all qualified applicants without regard to disability, race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin or sexual orientation.

Veteran Pitching Camp

High School Players Only    

This one-day camp is designed to provide instruction on the Nebraska piching philosophy, daily training regimens, delivery drills, pitches, and bullpen routines used by the Husker pitching staff.  Coach Silva will take participants through everything from grips to picks and the mental side of the mound as well.  It will provide each participant with an understanding of his delivery, pitches, and areas needing improvement to enhance consistency.

Location:  Hawks Field at Haymarket Park

Date/Time:  Tuesday, June 4 (8am - noon)

Rookie Pitching Camp

2nd Grade - 8th Grade
 
This one-day camp is designed to provide an introductory level of instruction to the Nebraska pitching philosophy, daily training regimens, delivery drills, pitches, and bullpen routines used by the Husker pitching staff.  It will provide each participant with an understanding of his delivery, pitches, and areas needing improvement to enhance consistency.  This camp is great for a tune up or introduction to pitching.
 
Location:    Hawks Field at Haymarket Park
 
Date/Time:  Tuesday, June 4 (1 - 5pm)
 
Registration Fee:  $80.00
 

4-on-1 Pitching Instruction

2nd Grade - 2013 High School Seniors
 
This is a 4-week session, meeting once a week for 60 minutes (4 total hours of instruction).
 
4-on-1 Pitching Instruction is a hands-on class for thsoe who want to improve their consistency on the mound.  Classes are limited to 4-5 players and sessions are designed to teach drills and philosophy that we hope will create a consistent level of success for all ages and abilities.  Players will be grouped with those of similar age and remain with that group for the entire session.

Veteran Pitching School

High Schooll Players Only

This is a 4-week session, meeting once a week for 2 hours (8 hours of total instruction).

This progressive throwing program focuses on pitching mechanics and maximizing each pitcher's delivery.  The throwing progression is the same program taught and practiced daily by the Nebraska pitching staff.  Coach Silva and Academy staff will take participants through everything from grips to picks and the mental side on the mound as well.  The camp will focus less on individual instruction, but more on a comprehensive training program with special emphasis on routine and repetition.

Individual Private Pitching Lessons

Individual private pitching lessons are now available through the Nebraska Baseball Academy.
 
Because of NCAA bylaws, these private lessons are open only to 10-year olds through individuals currently in the eighth grade. NCAA bylaws state that "prospective student-athletes" shall include any individual who has started classes for the ninth grade and are prohibited from participating in private lessons.
 
Lessons will be 4-week sessions meeting once a week for 45 minutes.
 
You will have the opportunity to select your instructor when registering.
 

Instructor:  THAD WEBER
Thad Weber is originally from Friend, NE.  He attended Hutchinson CC out of high school where he eventually became both Conference Player of the Year and a Junior College All-American.  He transferred to the University of Nebraska where he earned 2nd Team All Big 12 Honors as a Senior in 2008.  He was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in 2007 in the 35th round, but returned for his senior year and was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 16th round.  He spent 4 years with the Tigers before making his Major League Debut on April 22, 2012.  He is currently on the 40-man roster with the San Diego Padres.
 
 
Instructor:  CASEY HAUPTMAN
Casey was a key pitcher at Nebraska from 2008-11.  In his final season, Hauptman ranked first in the NCAA in walks allowed per nine innings (.031) and seventh in the Big 12 in ERA (2.45).  He also pitched professionally as he was drafted in the 26th round by the New York Mets.  Casey is currently pursuing his Masters of Business Administration from UNL.  Casey looks forward to working individually with you as you continue to work on all areas of pitching.

NEBRASKA BASEBALL ACADEMY REFUND POLICY

If it is necessary for you to cancel your camp registration, we ask that you do so at least 3 days prior to the camp date. If you cancel within this time frame, we will provide you with one of the following refund options:

Option #1 A 50% refund

Option #2 A FULL credit voucher to use on a Nebraska Baseball Academy camp (expires after 1 year)
